QR pet tag privacy

Last updated 6 October 2026. This covers the free QR tag tool at pawsbalm.com/tag/.

Your pet's name, phone number and note

We do not collect or store them. The QR code is made in your browser. It holds a link to our scan page, and your details sit after a "#" in that link. Browsers do not send that part to any server. Anyone who scans your tag sees exactly what you typed, and nothing else. There is no list or directory of owners.

Location

A finder can choose to text you their location. Their phone asks them first. The location goes from their phone straight into a text message to you. It does not pass through us.

Your email, if you give it

The email box is optional. If you tick the box and send it, we store your email address in our customer system (GoHighLevel) to send tag reminders and the odd PawsBalm note. Every email has an unsubscribe link. To have your email deleted, write to the address below and we will remove it.

Links to other companies

The pet insurance button goes through our own link so we can count clicks. We may earn a commission if you buy. That company's own privacy policy applies on their site.
